Research funding from AFA to Health Metrics

News: Jan 23, 2017

Anna Grimby Ekman, docent in epidemiology at Health Metrics, receives research funding from AFA for her project that will identify facilitating and restraining factors for successful outcome of pain management.

Chronicle pain is a heavy burden for the affected individual, employers, health care and society at large. Pain management programs common at pain clinics in the country often contain both group and individual treatment, but lack knowledge about what factors are facilitating or restraining a successful outcome of the treatment.

Anna Grimby Ekman receives 1 160 000 SEK to, with patient perspective, economic perspective and comparison of treatment components, increase the knowledge about factors affecting the outcome of pain management programs and how patients best can be prepared to achieve a successful treatment. The project is expected to run to 2018.

Please contact Anna Ekman for more information.
