About the unit

Health Metrics was originally created at the Sahlgrenska Academy under the name Centre for Applied Biostatistics (Akademistatistik) in 2011, and was a research group at the Occupational and Environmental Medicine unit.

As of January 2015 the unit took its new name of Health Metrics in order to reflect the broader responsibilites of the unit to coordinate research and education in statistics and health economics at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg.

Head of unit from the start in 2011 running until the fall of 2015 has been professor Max Petzold (Biostatistics). As of November 2015 head of unit is professor Mikael Svensson (Applied Health Economics). Full list of personnel can be found here.
